If you are new to yoga and are looking for a low impact way of exercising the best thing to do is to look for a prenatal yoga class. These classes are designed for pregnant parishioners and you can start them as early in your pregnancy as you want. If you are having morning sickness, you may want to wait until that passes and that usually is the second trimester.
If you have been practicing yoga for a while, you still may find your regular classes seem to be too intense for you. Prenatal classes may seem too easy, so at this point you will need to decide which class you should take on a given day depending on how you feel.
The solution might also be to include some prenatal poses that have been adapted into your regular routine. If you are in a class, your yoga instructor may help you with special poses developed for pregnancy and your changing body. When you enter the second or third trimester, you may find that prenatal classes are more suited for your body and its changing shape.
If you do Yoga with videotape, you should buy a prenatal video. Some of the recommended poses are ones that open the hip such as Pigeon, Triangle, Warrior II, and Knee to Ankle.

American Consumers Are Short on Discipline When it Comes to Parting With Their Income

Like a 4-year-old child at the checkout counter in a supermarket, American consumers want just one more impulse buy to make their buying day complete, and apparently the more expensive it is, the better.
Here is an example: A 68-year-old, semi-retired businessman shells out $600,000 for a recreational vehicle which costs about $550 to top off at the pump. He and his wife are tooling around the country in an effort to have fun while they can.
His comment on the decision is that "This isn't a dress rehearsal for lifethis is it. We're curtailing nothing." Those big tears you see following his comment might well come from any children who see their inheritance fading away into the sunset with dad and mom.
Like a dog in heat, if we have it we tend to spend it in America.
All of this impulse buying is detailed in a recent USA Today article with this headline: "Spending is hotter than the 4th of July". And indeed it apparently is.
Although the median amount of credit-card debt carried by the typical American is about $6,600 (this is not a typo), 13% of respondents in a recent online poll reported balances higher than $25,000, according to CardTrack.com.
"Never have Americans, who have always liked their toys, been faced with a situation where their impulses are so hard to control," says Stuart Vyse, a professor of psychology and author of the upcoming book Going Broke: Why Americans Can't Hold on to Their Money.
The fact is that we as consumers can buy almost anything we want anytime we want on the easiest terms we want. Sellers and lenders have no compunctions about selling us what we do not need at a price we cannot afford and at a rate of payment that can eventually drive us into bankruptcy.
Sellers and lenders, especially credit card lenders, have raised this willingness to line their pockets at our expense to an art form. And yes, I understand and agree with the observation that we all need to be responsible for our actions.
What I do disagree with is this: How can doing the right thing with right thinking and right motives justify lending consumers money and credit when they do not deserve it, and then leaving them no smarter but broker and deeper in debt in the process?
All of this unmerited lending is creating and concentrating wealth among America's very rich, and the rich club in America is growing faster and farther away from America's poor and middle classes.
"For the first time in history, more than half of all earned income, specifically 50.4%, is going to 20% of the U. S. population, which amounts to $3.5 trillion in the hands of 23 million households," says Peter Francese, a demographic trends analyst for ad and marketing giant Ogilvy & Mather.
So more than half of the earned income in America is going to 20% of the population, leaving the other half to 80% of the working stiffs that are left to continue buying things they do not need at prices they cannot afford on credit.
A key component of this impulse spending happens because too many Americans think they can afford it when they cannot.
Families are less frugal today, in part because only 25% of households have married couples with children, a significant drop from 50% in 1960 and the lowest percentage in census history. We have a census procedure in this country to learn these kinds of sociological shifts.
There are more working couples without children who have more disposable income and keep spending rather than realizing their good fortune and saving. Leading the spending spree are the seniors mentioned at the beginning of this article.
Seniors have so much spendable income that a Luxury Marketing Council has been created to advise top brands on consumer trends for a growing group of seniors that have at least $1 million in liquid assets. They do not need to sell their home to buy a $125,000 Maserati, they simply write a check out of one of their accounts.
I personally would not encourage this kind of spending among any consumers, and especially on an automobile which is a decreasing asset. If you cannot control your impulse to buy, at least buy land or developed properties that might well appreciate over time.
The USA Today article carried information by Pitney Bowes MapInfo which identified the Top 20 Counties nationwide with the highest average expenditures annually per household. Here are the Top 7:
1) Marin, CA - $68,782
2) Fairfield, CT - $65,263
3) Fairfax, VA - $63,569
4) San Mateo, CA - $63,229
5) Morris, NJ - $62,995
6) Somerset, NJ - $62,345
7) Westchester, NY - $61,425
I identify these counties as "high rent districts" which are too expensive for most people to buy a home. One thing is for sure, if you do not make some major money, you are not going to be able to keep up with those earners who can.
Not all of us suffer from this apparent impulse to buy.
The answer to impulse control just might be in yoga. Yoga taught me "impulse control", the ability to feel an urge and delay acting on it. Yoga also taught me that when stability becomes a habit, maturity and clarity follow.
While earning money has a way of increasing financial intelligence quickly, I learned a long time ago that a fool and his money are some parted.
I will keep the $125,000 and you can have the Maserati. I will keep the $600,000 and you can have the recreational vehicle. Eventually, cash is king; the car and the recreational vehicle will eventually end up in the junkyard with a lot of other impulse purchases.

What Causes a Golf Slice and How to Cure It

The slice is the most common fault in golf and in this article I plan to explore what causes a golf slice and how to cure it.
The slice is an uncontrolled shot that causes the ball to curve off to the right of the ball-to-target line, causing a loss of both direction and distance.
Most slices are the result of an unintentional out-to-in swing path, though other faults may also produce slicing. Whatever the swing path, the clubface always moves across the ball from far right to near left (right handed players). This causes the ball to spin in a clockwise direction, which moves the ball from left to right as it flies through the air.
Faults that lead to a slice occur at either the address position or during the swing itself.
Possible Causes During Set-up.
Bad Grip.
A club that is held too tightly creates tension in the arms and can cause the player to have an out-to-in swing. Try to relax your grip by imagining you are holding a little bird. You dont want to squeeze it to death but at the same time you dont want it to escape.
Having a weak grip. A weak grip tends to cause an open clubface at address. If this is your problem try turning both hands clockwise on the club.

Alignment.
May be open, which promotes slicing, or closed, which promotes an over the top swing. Align your feet and shoulders so that they are parallel to the ball to target line.
Ball Position.
Do not place the ball too far forward, this is a common fault which causes the shoulders to open and promotes an outside-to-in swing path.
Move the ball back in your stance, but still forward of center, so that when you set the club down your shoulders are parallel with the ball-to-target line.
Clubface angle.
An open clubface at address will cause the ball to slice. Ensure that your clubface is aligned square to the ball-to target line.
Possible Cause During The swing.
Poor weight transfer.
If you are not transferring your weight from your back foot to the front (target) your clubface will be open through impact.
Use the famous Gary Player down the fairway drill, where you play your shot and take a step forward on your follow through and walk after the ball.
Another drill is the stepping drill whereby you grossly exaggerate your weight transfer by lifting your front leg on the backswing, shifting all your weight on to the back foot and then stepping on the front foot and lifting the back foot on the downswing and follow through. Try it, it works.
Also very effective is to swing with your eyes close and concentrate on the weight shift. Do not worry about the ball when using this drill.
Club follows an out-to-in path (points to left of target at top of back swing).
With your club in this position you will have an out-to-in swing path.
Use the following drill to cure this. Address the ball as normal and then raise the club about 18 inches above the ball so it is hovering directly above it. Make a backswing that is not pulled quickly inside. Note the angle of the plane going back. Now make a forward swing in which the plane is under or shallower than the backswing plane. A back under, back under routine. Lower the club to the ball and repeat.
Upper body tension.
This is probably caused by gripping the club too tight. See above for holding a bird. Also relax the tension in the arms.

There are camps with activities as traditional as model rocketry and riflery and those that are nontraditional such as aviation, computers, language studies, golf, martial arts or community service. There are overnight summer camps with a focus on self-improvement, weight loss and grief counseling too. Selecting an overnight summer camp for your child, teen or other children deserves a great deal of consideration and attention to even the smallest details.
Planning early is important; you should be diligent in your efforts to visit camps during the peak season to make plans in advance of the upcoming camping year. The more artistically minded might want to consider arts and crafts, clowning, drama, photography, or dance to be important elements of having a well-rounded camp experience. Basically, if you can think of any subject area, there's probably a camp that specializes in it.
Special needs camps try to meet the needs of a wide range of children with disabilities; these camps provide an outdoor summer camp experience along with a therapeutic environment. Generally camps are divided by gender - girls only, boys only, or co-ed and again by age group. Selecting the right camp that fits with your child or teen's interests, special interests, needs, special needs and abilities is one of the first steps
Try to determine whether the camp director incorporates a similar philosophy to running the camp as you do in parenting your child or children. The best overnight summer sports camps do much more than try to improve a camper's soccer, tennis, lacrosse, or wrestling skills - they help each child become a more skillful athlete, a more gracious competitor, a more committed team player and a more confident person. Is there a special topic (e.g. religion, sports, educational, performing arts, arts and crafts) that you want your child will gain ability and experience in?
Camp tuition can be expensive; similar to travel insurance, there are now insurance policies for families sending their children to overnight summer camp to cover a last minute cancellation, homesickness, any medical emergency and emergency evacuations. You child or teen could typically explore subjects new to them like marine science, photography, creative writing, community service, drama, magic, scuba diving, video production, comic book design, crime scene forensics, cooking, yoga, rappelling, etc. If you have more than one child do you think, they would benefit from attending the same summer camp together?
Visit the camp; you can view campers and counselors in their element, witness activities as they occur, and just get an overall feel for the camp - something that cannot be accurately experienced when the camp is closed. Children will get more individual attention and supervision with fewer campers per counselor. Non-profit camps often range anywhere from $1200 to $3000 for four weeks and $2500 to $5000 for eight weeks.
Although camp counselor jobs don't usually pay very well, minimum wage or less, counselors receive free room and board; many take the job primarily for the camping experience. And most camp counselors are in their late teens or early twenties and are high school and college students on their summer break. There are many types of overnight summer camps with a focus on education that cater to students of differing ages and academic interests.
If you find a traditional overnight summer camp or sleepaway camp that is not the right fit, or an expense that isn't possible at this place in time, know that there are other options that can keep your child occupied throughout the summer. Look over and evaluate the fliers, brochures and promotional materials; read the fine print. If you think there's a possibility you might have to cancel an overnight summer camp reservation, then camper's insurance is a good idea. The summer is a key time to visit overnight summer camps or sleepaway camps because you can determine whether they'll be the right fit for your child, children or family while the camp is in full operation.

What is Yoga Asana

Regardless of what particular school or type of yoga we practice, it is unlikely that many of us are really practicing yoga. Rather we are more likely to focus on only 1 of the 8 limbs of yoga - yoga asana.
Yoga asana are the physical positions and postures of yoga that started were really only starting to develop in importance with the development of Hatha Yoga. While exact dates are not well established, yoga has existed for a lot longer than the practice of modern asana.
These asana have been developed over more than 1500 years to promote physical health as part of a greater Hatha yoga practice. Each asana is carefully designed to focus on particular areas of the body. The specific effects of an asana include:

How do yoga asana work
Although yoga and asana are not considered to be scientific by western definitions, the practice of asana is considered by yoga masters to be very carefully developed and refined based on several well-developed underlying principles and health objectives.
Gravity One of the key principles of asana is that of gravity. Asana use gravity in a variety of ways, the most important being in developing strength. By resisting body weight on arms or legs the asana can develop upper body or leg strength and muscle tone in the same way a weightlifter would in a gym. With yoga asana the weight being resisted varies only with our own body weight, and each pose can only apply the same amount of body weight meaning that all muscles are developed proportionately so long as each pose is held for an equivalent amount of time. After we can easily hold our body weight in a particular pose, holding the pose for longer builds additional strength and stamina.
Blood flow and nutrients
Blood flow to specific areas of the body brings many health benefits. By working specific muscles, soft tissue and joints, the body brings additional blood flow providing the needed oxygen. This additional blood also brings needed nutrition to those areas, which is essential for general health as well as the speedy recovery from injury and damage. The key way to bring blood to these areas is through stretching. In addition to the increased blood flow, stretching loosens and relaxes soft tissue such as muscles, ligaments and tendons and opens joints, all of which helps to relieve tension and pressure on nerves in these areas.
Deep breathing
During the practice of asana, we are encouraged to control our breath with long deep inhalations and exhalations. In some poses it is even encouraged to still the breath with the lungs full or the lungs empty for periods of 20 seconds to 1 minute. The first benefit of this controlled breathing is to bring our focus and consciousness to the present, to our current actions. By being able to control this focus, we can improve our concentration. Secondly by breathing in this controlled way, we improve the efficiency of our respiratory system, bringing more oxygen to the body and to the organs, muscles and soft tissue being worked on.
Central nervous system and internal organs
Although yoga texts don't tend to describe yoga in the terms used by modern medicine, many of the concepts are analogous to medical structures. With nerves represented as Nadis or energy channels and the Chakras representing key glands. The purpose of asana is to rejuvenate the whole body by conditioning these individual systems to make sure they are working optimally.
One of the key focuses of asana is in on the central nervous system, which comprises the spine and brain. In yoga this could be referred to as the Nadis and crown Chakra. The endocrine glands, which include the thymus, thyroid, pituitary pineal, hypothalamus, adrenal and sex glands release their secretions directly into the blood stream. The secretions made by these glands have an enormously profound effect on the body's health function controlling everything from height and weight to metabolism and emotions. Asana are designed to stimulate these glands in a variety of ways from increasing blood flow to those in the brain (hypothalamus, pituitary and pineal) or thyroid in the neck to gently massage and stimulate through bends and twists of the abdomen.
The next key systems that asana stimulate are the internal organs and digestive systems. Both of these systems are critical to taking in nutrition and expelling waste and toxins from the body, and are particularly important for good health. Take for example the Japanese names for days of the week. In Japanese, all of these words relate to things that can be found in nature and were considered important in peoples lives in the distant past. the key words are the Japanese words for sun, moon, fire, water, wood, earth, gold and earth.

Sunday is the Suns day, just like in English, The Japanese word for sun is nichi.

Monday, similarly, is the Moons day. The Japanese word for moon is getsu.

Tuesday is fire day. The Japanese word for fire is ka.

Wednesday is water day. The Japanese word for water is sui.

Thursday is wood day. The Japanese word for wood is moku.

Friday is the golden day. The Japanese word for gold is kin.

A Voice over Internet protocol, or VoIP, transmission is initiated by converting voice into digital format. This can be done by Analog Telephone Adaptor (ATA) or by the computer itself using software. In the Public Switch Transmission Network (PSTN), the dialing of the number initiates the call by connecting the call to the public switch and routing the call to the correct partys telephone number through the telephone network.

This is also called IP PBX (private branch exchange), similar to the PBX of the PSTN lines.
There are gateways and gatekeepers that control the call admission and bandwidth management. They also control the creation of IP packets that contain the voice data and other information about the call.
Finally, there is the IP network, which consists of distributed routers ensuring connectivity. This IP logical switch is referred to as the soft-switch architecture. These four components form the phone system for VoIP, in addition to the software and various protocols through which the call is smoothly communicated.
